As part of the European Commission’s Horizon 2020 work programme, the Repro-light project (Re-usable and re-configurable parts for sustainable LED based lighting systems) aspires to initiate a transformation in the European LED lighting industry, by creating the ‘Luminaire of the Future’.

Trendy new LEDs are solving the industry’s biggest problems.

LED light bulbs have seen plenty of growth in recent years with the many advantages it has over traditional lighting. Costs have come down drastically and the technology has provided more options for consumers. That’s also paid off in terms of eliminating our carbon footprint, with emissions coming down by over half a billion tons in 2017.

Norway has installed auto-dimming street lights in parts of the country in hopes of decreasing its carbon footprint.
